Obituary for PATTERSON

Jane L. Patterson, 90, a resident of Los Alamos, passed into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2006. Jane was born in Ypsilanti, MI on April 4, 1916 to George Howard and Adeline Lambert. She attended Northwestern Bible School where she came to know the Lord as her Savior. She received her RN Degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She met James Patterson in 1942 and they were married in May of 1944. Jane and her husband James relocated from Ames, Iowa to the Chicago area in 1950. She was involved in Bible study and Sunday School and other programs while attending Lombard Gospel Chapel in Lombard, IL. It was while she lived in Lombard that she raised her family of five children. In 1972 she relocated to Los Alamos where her husband entered employment at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. She quickly adjusted to life in the Southwest and loved the beauty of the Jemez Mountains. She made numerous friends in the community and was a role model to many. She was a wonderful homemaker and her radiant smile and outgoing personality affected everyone she met. She shared her vibrant faith with many and countless numbers were blessed by her hospitality and gracious spirit. She was loved and will be missed by all. Jane was the loving and devoted wife of James H. Patterson, mother of Mary Jean Suriano and husband, Lou, James Roger Patterson and wife, Betty, Elizabeth Osborn and husband, Neil, Daniel Patterson and wife, Kathy, and Barbara Chang and husband, Peter; grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of one. Visitation will be on Monday, December 11, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Rock Baptist Church in White Rock. Burial to follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos.
