Helen S. Goodner, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to the Lord on December 6, 2006. She was born March 6, 1924 in Yeso, NM and grew up in Belen. Mrs. Goodner received her BA in Elementary Ed. from Hardin Simmons Univ. in Abilene, TX and her MA in Special Ed. from UNM; she retired from APS in 1988. She was appointed a missionary with her husband by Southern Baptist Home Mission Board and served in CA, KS, MA and NM for 34 years. Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Goodner; three daughters, Leah Parker and husband, Dan, Teresa Lihte and husband, Dennis, and Stephani Treadwell; and seven grandchildren. Memorial Service will be Sunday, December 17, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd. NE. Private ennichment at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
