M.B. "Boss" Romero, age 89, of Santa Fe, passed away on December 4, 2006. M.B. was one of five children born and raised in Agua Fria Village to Luis Romero and Susanne Brown Romero. M.B. spent 30 years as a Manager for Santa Fe Motor Company. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his return to New Mexico, he married Esther Romero in 1945 - a union which lasted for 61 years. Esther and M.B. raised their two children in Santa Fe. They were longtime members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed his many friends, playing poker, dancing and traveling. One of his greatest pleasures was walking in the hills around Santa Fe with his dog "Pup Star". M.B. and Esther moved to Albuquerque three years ago to be near their children. M.B. is survived by his family in Albuquerque: wife, Esther Velarde Romero; daughter, Lillian L. Romero; son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Ruth Romero; grandchildren: Ben P. Gonzales and wife, Rosie, Reina L. Gonzales, Michael J. Gonzales and wife, Valarie; and four great-grandchildren: Dominic, Jeremy, Storm, and Alexander. M.B. was deeply loved and will be missed by friends and family. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. in the Berardinelli Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be recited on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Ben Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Dominic Gonzales, Reina Gonzales, Gary Brouse, and Patty Tupper.
