Obituary for PRICE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday December 03, 2006

Vinita "Jo" Price peacefully went to be with her lord and savior on Thanksgiving Day, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on July 30, 1926 in Marlow, OK to James and Ruth Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents at an early age; her daughter, Julia in 1947; husband, Jack Price on April 10, 2005; and her daughter, Linda Price-Gutierrez on April 5, 2005. We will miss her sweet smile and special touch but she will always be in our hearts. Her children, grandchildren and love for animals meant everything to her. Our mom was deaf and part of many deaf communities through her journey in life. She is survived by her loving son, Jack Thompson of Abilene, TX; and daughters, Margaret Thompson-Hardwick and Brenda Thompson and Partner, ArDeena Morgan of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Louis Hazen and his wife, Jodi of Castle Rock, CO, Jordan O'Neill of Albuquerque, NM, MeMori Hardwick of Giddings, TX; her cousin, Opal Shoats and husband, Bill Shoats of Albuquerque, NM; and by many friends who knew and loved her. A private Memorial was held at Aspen Funeral Alternatives on November 29, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. Our special thanks to the staff in CCU of Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM and many friends for their acts of kindness during this hard time for our family. Although our hearts are sad, we know that she is celebrating with the ones who went before us. She can hear our voices now for the first time and will always be with us.
