Marvin Orlando Hopkins, 54, of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, born February 20, 1953, Marvin was the son of the late Rev. James A. Hopkins and the late Louise Marvyn Hopkins. Marvin was a graduate of Rio Grande High School, class of '71, and was a member of Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. He worked for over 27 years for the New Mexico Dept. of Labor, retiring as Asst. Director. Marvin was preceded in death by one brother, Edward; and his parents; and is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughters, DeeAnn Hopkins, Veronica Hopkins and Aljanet Walton; son, Maurice Johnson; six grandchildren; brother, James R. Hopkins; sisters, Corliss L. Hopkins, Janet L. Timberlake; step-mother, Christine Hopkins; and two step-sisters, Burtina Frederick and Vera Taylor; as well as many nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Daniels Family Funeral Service, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C, 1000 Broadway SE, the Rev. Samuel Gilmore officiating and Rev. Alonzo Twitty delivering the Euology. Committal Services will follow in the Sandia Memory Gardens.
