Obituary for ROTHSCHILD

Lois H. Rothschild, of Santa Fe, and formerly of Succasunna, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006, at home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Rothschild is survived by her husband, Dr. William S. Rothschild of Santa Fe, NM; son, Andrew M. Rothschild of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Gary A. Rothschild of Pelham, NY; daughter, Phyllis Golnik of Carlisle, MA; seven grandchildren; mother, Shirley Daniels of Newton, MA; sister, Karen Barnett of Allendale, MA; and sister, Susan Daniels of Sharon, MA. Born in Boston, MA on January 4, 1941, Mrs. Rothschild married Dr. William S. Rothschild in 1961. After acquiring a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and two Masters Degrees - one in Education from Seton Hall University and another in Special Education from Montclair State University - she went on to contribute greatly to the field of education in general. She became the founder and director of Randolph Educational Services in Randolph, NJ. She served as president of the NJ International Dyslexia Association, was a board member of the Southwest International Dyslexia Association, created the "World of Words" SAT preparatory DVD, created and produced the film "Creative Brains" (shown at the 2005 Santa Fe Film Festival), and was the recipient of a Gold Leaf on the Wall of Honor at the International Dyslexia Headquarters. Mrs. Rothschild also received a Distinguished Service Award in 2006 from the Southwest International Dyslexia Association. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at 12:30 p.m., at Temple Beth Shalom, Santa Fe, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be sent to St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center: 455 St. Michael's Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
