Obituary for WEBB

R.L. "Buck" Webb, born in Nokona, TX on June 15, 1920 passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife Nellie on Monday, November 20, 2006. Buck and Nellie married in Matador, TX in 1945. He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Webb Barker and husband, Don, Melba Roach and husband, David, Donna Maschewski and husband, Steve and Carla Webb; grandchildren, Lori, Debra, Phillip, Amy and Kara; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Clifford Webb; and sister, Newell Crego. Mr. Webb proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was involved in the Invasion of Normandy as well as in many other areas of France and Germany. He received numerous medals including three bronze stars. Buck and Nellie moved to Albuquerque in 1954 where they raised their family. Mr. Webb drove a truck for Crego Block Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1982. He was a loving family man and committed Christian and will be especially remembered for his quick wit, humor and great stories. Services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Blake Road Baptist Church, 1704 Blake Rd. SW.
