Obituary for JOSEY

Robert Wallace Josey, age 81, son of James Wallace and Edna Josey, was born in Raton on September 16, 1925 and died at home in the arms of his loving wife in Albuquerque Thursday, November 16, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Anne Josey; three sons, Patrick and wife, Becky of Santa Fe, Michael of Boulder, CO and John and wife, Eileen of Niwot, CO; three daughters, Suzanne and Tom Smith of Farmington, Kathleen and Larry Green of Albuquerque and Margaret and Jason Parker of Hygiene, CO; one sister, Shirley Baker of Raton; eight grandsons, Brian, Colin, Stephen, Matthew and Kevin Josey, Kenneth and Robert Smith, and Walter Parker; five granddaughters, Caitlin, Sarah, and Alix Josey, Claire Green and Isabelle Parker. Mr. Josey was preceded in death by his parents. He served in the Navy in 1943-1946. Mr. Josey returned to Raton High School and graduated in 1947. He attended New Mexico State University. Mr. Josey retired from Mountain Bell in 1976. He owned and operated Josey's Mogote Meadow Cabins and RV Park on the Conejos River, Antonito, CO for 28 years. Mr. Josey was involved with his family, children and grandchildren. Mr. Josey danced one mean polka and played the banjo poorly. He will be deeply missed. Rosary will be recited Monday, November 20, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to Rosary. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will take place Wednesday, November 22, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
