Obituary for STEWART

Jewell M. Stewart, a resident of Albuquerque since 2002, is now at home with the Lord. Born December 24, 1919, she died peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Jewell was born in Vinita, OK. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to Tulsa, OK, where she met and married her husband, Jack. During their marriage, they lived in Tulsa, OK, Southern California, and Central Oregon. Jewell was a homemaker and also worked outside the home in a variety of clerical and administrative positions. They returned to Tulsa, OK, in 1974. In 1982, she retired from Crane Plumbing Supply as a Receiving Clerk. She moved to Albuquerque, NM, in January 2002. Jewell was mother to four daughters, grandmother to eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also had one great-great-granddaughter. Her family and friends will remember her as loving, caring, kind, trustworthy, faithful, and a devoted woman of God. She maintained a positive attitude and, because of her faith and trust in her Lord, she faced her challenges with strength and dignity. Her presence here on earth will be sorely missed by many. She is at peace, no longer in pain, and enjoying a heartfelt reunion with loved ones. And, we are confident that her Lord and Master greeted her by saying, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." (Matt 25:21a) She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Speer and husband, Jack of Albuquerque, Karen Obye and husband, Allan of Albuquerque, and Melody McDougal and husband, Calvin of Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Patrick McIver of Tulsa, OK, Vicky Wilson and husband, Jim of Bristow, OK, Mike Speer and wife, Patty of Tulsa, OK, Shawn Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Heidi Barnes and husband, Neal of Newton, AL, and Jenny Wright and husband, David of Vancouver, WA; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stewart; her brother, Dick Tull; her sister, Betty Cooper; her daughter, Deloris Hogard; and two grandsons, Michael Waldron Jr., and Michael McIver. Funeral Services will be held at the Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, in Tulsa, OK, on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Christian Fellowship in Albuquerque on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Waite of Covenant of Grace Bible Church will officiate at both Services.
