Joe Manuel Lucero, 83, a lifelong resident of NM, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Clara Lucero; children, Loretta Stockton and husband, Ernest, Priscilla Hamilton and husband, Tom, Ron Lucero and wife, Helen, Arnold Lucero, Cynthia Garcia, Pamela "Pinky" Garcia, Antoinette Rivas and husband, Ray, Nancy Roybal and husband, Rick, and Jennifer Mauricio and husband, Andres; grandchildren, Leslie, Juliet, Devon, Justin, Lindsey, Billy, Lauren, Tanisha, Delilah, Joe, Monique, Dominic, Jason, Susanna, Fernando, Julian, Jackie, Jerilyn, Matthew, Robert, and Clara; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Ronan, Heaven, Marissa, Dominic, Breanna, Andres, Antonio, Miguel, and Gabriele; brother, Daniel Lucero; and a large, extended family; and many friends. Joe and Clara Lucero are longtime members of Church of the Ascension in Southwest Albuquerque. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1985. Mr. Lucero was a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter 3, having served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He had also been a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Lucero's family would like to thank the staff of Vista Care Hospice and Dr. Michael West for their loving care. Rosary will be recited Friday, November 10, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at Church of Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW, with The Legion of Mary reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 11, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Church of Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW.
