Andres "Papi" Sanchez, 89, passed away on November 6, 2006, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on September 24, 1917, and immigrated from the island of Cuba in 1968. Papi loved to dance Cumbia and did so up until his last moments. He is survived by his children, Lizette Diaz and husband, Jose, Andres "Andy" Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Lourdes, Odalys Saiz and husband, Joe, Mabel Sanchez and husband, Pat, and Jackie Sanchez and boyfriend, Aaron Lopez; 11 grandchildren, Lissette, Adrianna, Jose, Gabriela, Andy, Jr., Cristina, Alec, Patrick, Olivia, Gabby, and Aylssa. Andres was preceded in death in 1978 by his wife of 23 years, Maria Isabel. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. Cremation to follow.
