Elias Barba, 67, was born on October 19, 1939 in Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006. He was survived by his wife of nine years, Nadine Barba; four children: daughter, Yvonne R. Conkln and husband, David E. and their two sons, Rene F. Barba and David I. Conkln; son, Elias Barba Jr. and his children, Zabrina and son, Stephen; daughter, Ronda Benavides and her three children, Johnnacie, Dan and Shalee Chavez; and son, Jason Barba; six brothers, Sammuel, Phillip, John, Ben, Richard, and Joel; six sisters, Lydia Romo, Domie Laughlin, Phoebe Lucero, Naomi Sanchez, Josephine Gurule, and Pearl Barba; four stepchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Barba; mother, Elvira Londeros; and two brothers, Mike and Raymond Barba. Elias proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired from the federal government. Elias was currently working at Standard Parking at the Albuquerque International Airport. Elias was a loving and kind man who will be missed very much. The void he left will not be filled. May God bless him and may he rest in peace. Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
