Obituary for TORRES

Jeanette J. Torres, is now at Home with the Lord, born on April 28, 1952. She lost her long battle with cancer on November 2, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Corrine Harrison and recently her sister, Virginia Harrison. She is survived by her loving husband, of 36 years, Daniel M. Torres; her loving daughter, Kimberly Torres; and her loving son, Kevin Torres; sister, Loretta Gurule and husband, Al Gurule; mother-in-law, Alice Torres; brother-in-law, Paul Torres; sister-in-law, Lucille Giddings and husband, Charles Giddings; sister-in-law, Julie Velasco and husband, Bobby Velasco; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette attended Valley High School and graduated in 1970. Prior to her illness, she worked for Circuit City in Computer Sales and received numerous awards for Top Sales Performance. Jeanette loved animals, especially her dogs, Haley, Hokulani, Eddy, Karma, Lani and Pinon. No matter how bad her days would get, her dogs would always bring a smile and joy to her life. Jeanette was an avid collector, her favorites being Hello Kitty and Beanie Babies. She will always be remembered for her warm and loving smile that touched those who knew her. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be AB Montoya, Max Contreras, Stephen Sais, Arthur Harrison, Chucky Giddings, and Vernon Dinelli. Honorary Pallbearers will be Avery Gurule and Manuel Perea.
