Obituary for VIGIL

Mela D. Vigil went to be with the Lord and to join her husband on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 74. She will be lovingly remembered for her magnetic personality and sense of humor. Mela was a "people person" with many friends. She was also an excellent cook. Mrs. Vigil was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joe Lino Vigil; parents, Cipriano and Beatrice Dominguez; sisters, Alice and Evelyn; and her beloved grandmother, Mamage Hurtado. She is survived by her children, Beverly A. Vigil of Los Angeles, CA, Dennis Vigil, Theresa Griego and husband, Jim, Eileen Saiz and husband, Jimmy, and Rudy Vigil and wife, Annabelle; siblings, Jennie Lopez of Arizona, Connie Montoya, Angie Serna, Wilfred Dominguez, Lorraine Townley, Michael Dominguez, and Pat Dominguez; grandchildren, Randy Vigil, Melissa Griego, Denise Saiz, Celina Vigil, and Christopher Saiz; step-grandchildren, Edward Martinez and Jared Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Marcus, Jeremiah, Marina, and Brandon. Visitation for Mrs. Vigil will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2006 also at Holy Rosary Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Sandoval, James Lopez, Robert Santillanes, Dominic Montoya, Lawrence Serna, and Bill Dominguez.
