Obituary for LUCERO

Polidor E. Lucero went home to be with our Lord after a short bout with cancer. He was born in Santa Barbara/Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 25, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tranquilino and Lucarita Lucero; his grandchildren, Natalie Jaramillo and James Gabaldon Jr.; his sisters, Louisa Cano, Josie Garcia and Irene Lucero. He is survived by his sons, Rodney and wife, Rosa, Robert and his daughters, Anna Gabaldon and Susan Milanez; special friend and caregiver, Deolinda (Dolly) Garcia; his grandsons, L. Cpl. Jude Gabaldon, William Cevallos and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ester Stogden; brother, Carlos Gene Lucero and wife, Marie; many more friends and relatives. Polidor served as a cook in the U.S. Navy, retired from GTE/Sylvania in California after 30 years. He moved back to Albuquerque in 1994 where he played in the church choir at San Ignacio Church in Martineztown. He will be greatly missed for the wonderful music he played on his guitar and harmonica. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the care they provided for our dad. Viewing will be at Riverside Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at the church 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm. Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Church. Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be William Cevallos, Oswaldo Rodas, Robert Perea, Arturo Cano, Joe Gonzales and Anthony Villanueva. Honorary Pallbearers will be L. Cpl. Jude Gabaldon, Marino Crespin, Joe E. Garcia, Fito Montoya and Carlos Gene Lucero. Riverside Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
