Mathias "Matt" Joseph Schmitt, 86, a resident of the Albuquerque, and Rio Rancho areas for the past 35 years, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2006. Matt was born April 14, 1920 the son of Mathias Michael and Catherine Schmitt in Buffalo, NY. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Matt is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine of Rio Rancho; two sons, M. Barry Schmitt and wife Kathleen of Toulouse, France, and Bill N. Schmitt of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Kevin Schmitt and wife Sonja, Ashley, Jason, and Nicole; and one great-grandchild, Justin. Private Memorial Services will be held for Matt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amber Care Hospice, 2129 Osuna Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113. Arrangement by Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Rd.
