Obituary for ALLENSWORTH

James A. Allensworth, born April 19, 1923 and died Wednesday, October 11, 2006. Jim was born in Junction City, KS. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Jim graduated from K State and attended UNM. He worked as an Engineer and System Analyst, retiring from Sandia National Laboratories after 35 years of service. Jim spent his retirement years carrying on a vigorous study in science and the human condition, researching his Potawatomi ancestry and enjoying life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Thornton; father, Orville Allensworth; sisters, Carolyn, Linda, and Dora Ann; son, Daniel; brothers, Orville (Timmy) Ross and Donald Gene; and beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth. Jim is survived by his former wife, Joan Martha Allensworth of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Mary Ann Crandall and Jo Ellen Silverberg; brother, David Allensworth and wife, Jo Ann; daughters, Dr. Mary McKee and husband, Gary, Lisa Westfall and husband, John, Beverly Anderson, Judy McNew and husband, Kevin, and Susan Wiley and husband, Greg; sons, James Allensworth and wife, Ana, and Andrew Allensworth and wife, Susan; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three on the way.
