Obituary for ELDREDGE

Harrison C. Eldredge, 81, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margarethe of Albuquerque; daughter, Frances Eldredge of Tulsa, OK; son, Harry Eldredge of Sacramento, CA; grandson, Landon Eldredge of Sacramento, CA; brothers, David Eldredge of Philadelphia, PA and Winthrop Eldredge of West Hartford, CT. During WWII, Harrison served as a Navy gunner on merchant ships. He later became a professor of English Literature and developed an interest in acting. After coming to Albuquerque in 1988 he taught Shakespeare courses in the Continuing Education division of the University of New Mexico. He also acted in numerous productions at the city's theaters. For two years here, Harrison was a volunteer mediator in the Victim-Offender Mediation Program for juvenile offenders. Shortly after arriving in NM, Harrison joined the Albuquerque Council for International Visitors and once served as its treasurer. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service announced at a later date. He was a gracious man and served the community faithfully. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
