CELESTINO A. Mr. Celestino A. Maestas, 75, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on October 9, 2006 peacefully at home and is now in heaven with our Lord. Mr. Maestas is the beloved father to Christina Chavez and husband, Ron, Antonio Maestas and wife, Elizabeth, Patrick Maestas and wife, Renee, Elizabeth D. Maestas, Raymond P. Maestas and wife, Laura, Pedro Maestas, and Gilbert M. Maestas. Mr. Maestas is also survived by his stepdaughter, Juanita (Janie) Gonzales and husband, Joe; one sister, Carmen Chavez; 19 grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Maestas was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Maestas; his parents, Pedro and Sorida Maestas; three brothers, Juan Maestas, Joe Maestas, and Margarito Maestas; and a sister, Virginia Barbero. Mr. Maestas was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Retired Fire Fighters Association. Visitation for Mr. Maestas will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Sister Marcella Campos. Final visitation will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. A Committal Service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Military Honors by the U.S. Army. Pallbearers will be his sons and son-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
