Oracio Z. (Orie) Garcia, born October 5, 1923, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Orie was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Medal of Good Conduct serving in Southern and Northern France and Germany during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Randy Garcia and wife, Marie; grandson, Jonathan and his wife ,Victoria; granddaughters, Crystalee De Hoyos and husband, Gabriel, Tiffany, and Miranda; great-granddaughters, Mariah and Marissa; sister, Rose Armijo and husband, Pete; and former wife, Flora Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by long life companion, Bertha Lujan and children, Louise Sandoval and husband, Lee, Betty Baca and husband, Robert, Judy White, Lillian Gallegos; and son, Alex Lujan and wife, Erma. A Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Church, where Orie served as an usher, Friday, October 6, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Garcia, Gabriel De Hoyos, Gene Garcia, Gerald, Garcia, Alex Lujan, and Robert Baca.
