Obituary for PANKEY

Barbara "Bobbi" Jean Pankey, 68, a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, died Sunday, September 24, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Dena Jernigan and husband, Nick; son, Benny Pankey; grandchildren, Melissa Pankey, Nicohle Jernigan, Sonya Jernigan and Carter Pankey, all of Albuquerque; sister, Roselle Higginbotham; brother, Buzzy Warren and wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Evelyn Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pankey was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Pankey; daughter, Debbie Pankey; and parents, Hobert and Arabelle Warren. She retired from the City of Rio Rancho after 22 years. Mrs. Pankey had a great passion for caring for her grandchildren. A part of that was watching her granddaughters dance and watching her son and grandson race their cars. Her last trip out of town was to watch her son race in Aztec, NM. She was an active part of her granddaughters' marching band competitions. She is deeply loved and will be missed by all. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
