Obituary for MCCREARY

EVELYN LOUISE HARGROVE Evelyn McCreary was born in Kansas City, MO in 1919. She journeyed to her next destination August 2006. Evelyn was the daughter of Eva White Hargrove and Scott Hargrove. She and her sister, Dorothy, grew up in Wichita, KS, spending summers in Estes Park, CO. Evelyn received her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from Berea College, located in Berea, KY. While at college, Evelyn met, fell in love with, and married William Jasper McCreary. After the 2nd World War was over, they moved to Los Alamos with their infant son, Pat. Linda was born a few years later. Evelyn was loved by her family and held in high regard by those who knew her. She served her community by raising her children, through her active involvement in various fiber arts organizations throughout northern New Mexico, and her volunteer work at the Los Alamos Senior Center. This is not the sum of her life. She is survived by Pat and Jan, living in Silver City, and Linda and Ellen and their children, Elliott and Avery, living in Albuquerque.
