Obituary for LARRIBAS

Ray Larribas, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2006. Born on August 8, 1922, he was raised in Martineztown. Mr. Larribas is survived by his children, Bonnie Larribas, David Larribas, Vietnam veteran, Celia Bonney and husband, Matthew, Anthony G. Larribas, Rosemarie Newsome and husband, Paul, John Larribas, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ann Marie Goold, Carlos Larribas, Nicholas Bonney, Shane Larribas, Andrea Newsome, Alicia Larribas; an unborn great-grandchild; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Belen Larribas; and mother, Nellie Whitehead. Mr. Larribas was a WWII veteran and POW. He served in the 101st Airborne Division, 509th Regiment in the Army as a paratrooper from which he retired in 1964. Mr. Larribas served in the Army for 21 years and also in the Air Force as a Chief Fire Fighter and a Chief Fire Instructor. He retired from Sandia Laboratories. Mr. Larribas also served as a National Service Officer at the VA for 25 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since 1963. Mr. Larribas will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. Mass will be promptly celebrated on Thursday, September 28, 2006, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Friends may visit Our Lady of Fatima half an hour prior to the Rosary. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Larribas, Nicholas Bonney, Matthew Bonney, Paul Newsome, Carlos Larribas, Oscar Borunda, and John Larribas. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
