Obituary for MARTIN

Velma Etta Martin celebrated 85 loving years with her family and friends and passed on early Friday morning, September 15, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Bob Martin; her sister; one aunt; four brothers, three daughters, Clara Jacobson and husband, Rich of Billings, MT, Angela Wrenn of Daytona Beach, FL, and Julie Bencoe and husband, Mike of Albuquerque; beloved son, Robert Martin of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Velma was born July 15, 1921 in Osage, OK and graduated from Osage High school. She attended Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK. Velma worked as an Aircraft Communicator for the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Oklahoma City and then was transferred to Albuquerque where she met our daddy and became a mother and homemaker. She was also a data processor for the Civil Service Commission in Albuquerque. Velma was a member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ and enjoyed quilting with the ladies from church. Our mom lived a life of love and sacrifice and will be greatly missed by friends and family. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Friday, September 22, 2006, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Netherwood Park Church of Christ, 5101 Indian School Rd.
