Obituary for CHAVEZ

Emilio Molina passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006. He was born July 7, 1919 to Perfecto Gonzales Chavez and Eduvigen Molina-Chavez in San Mateo, NM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Feliz Gutierrez-Chavez and sister, Jesusita (Susie). Emilio is survived by his brother, Claude and sisters, Edwina, Delia, Rosie, Helen (Salome), and Evangeline. Also surviving are daughter, Geraldine Armstrong and husband, Dale of Harrisonville, MO; sons, Leroy (Lee) and wife, Jill and Emilio Jr. and wife, Anita of Albuquerque. In addition are grandchildren, Bruce, Doug and Kyle Armstrong, Stephanie Behrens, Domonic Chavez, Brandi Salazar, Deanna Gomez and Isaac Chavez; also 10 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. After a 31 year career with Sandia National Laboratories, Emilio retired in 1981. He was a devote Catholic of unyielding service to St. Anne's Church that included singing in the choir and serving as lector and Eucharistic minister. He was often found out in the south valley neighborhoods providing communion to shut-ins. Rosary will be held Thursday September 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Burial Mass will be held at St. Anne's, Friday, September 15, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Emilio's grandsons shall serve as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home 764-9663.
