Jose "Dan" Apodaca, age 79, a lifelong resident of Peralta, NM, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2006. Dan retired from the Gas Company of New Mexico in 1989 after 42 1/2 years of employment. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1946. Dan loved working outside and being with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Eloisa Apodaca. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Corine; and he was the proud father of six daughters, Anna Tapia and companion, Felix Casaus, Rosina Pennycuff and husband, Bill, Pauline Salas and husband, Felix, Theresa Hidalgo and husband, Richard, Yolanda Miles and husband, Carl, and Annette Apodaca; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Moya; and his brother, Leo Apodaca and his wife, Rosemary. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta beginning with a rosary on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place following the Mass at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his six daughters.
