Obituary for PIRO

ALBINO Mr. Albino Piro, 90, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on September 9, 2006. Mr. Piro is the beloved husband to Mrs. Maria (Jessie) J. Piro married for 60 years. Mr. Piro is also survived by his children, Robert Piro and wife, Diane, Lydia Piro and husband, Pedro Rael, and Juanita Sena; nine grandchildren, Caprice Amerine, Bobby Piro, Jenna Piro, Nic Pantano, Miguel Pantano, Sharalaina Piro-Rael, Ricardo Piro-Rael, Roque Sena, and Regina Sena; three great-grandchildren, Annalicia Sena, Phillip Amerine, and Bethel Amerine; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Mr. Piro was preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Emerenciana Piro; brothers, Manuel and Eliseo Piro; sisters, Isabel Lopez, Gracia Lopez, and Estefana Padilla. Mr. Piro was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He served with General Patton and received the Bronze Star. Mr. Piro served in the 90th Division on D-Day at the Invasion of Normandy and in many other battles including the Battle of the Bulge at Bastone, he also served in France, Belgium, Germany, and into Czechoslovakia. Mr. Piro worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he farmed for 20 years with his brother, Eliseo. He farmed apples, had a vineyard, chili, and alfalfa. Visitation for Mr. Piro will be Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service/Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at San Clemente Catholic Church, 244 Luna Ave., Los Lunas, NM. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Clemente Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Doug Mitchell. Interment will follow at the Los Lentes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roque Sena, Bobby Piro, Jenna Piro, Sharalaina Piro-Rael, Ricardo Piro-Rael, and Pedro Rael.
