Geraldine Wilkins Soderstadt, 90, a resident of Albuquerque and Gallup since 1928, died Friday, September 8, 2006. She is survived by daughters, Mary Soderstadt of Los Lunas, Barbara Soderstadt-Coffman and husband Rick of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ray Byrum and wife Pam of Zuni, NM, Meri Collins of Tucson, Az, Jeri Bolton and husband John of Gallup, NM; Bill Byrum and wife Bea of Gallup, NM; Paul Coffman and wife Donna, of Arlington Tx. Kathy Weigl and husband Kevin, of Gallup, NM. John Schrimsher and wife Candy of Gallup, NM. Richard Coffman Jr. and wife Becky, of Albuquerque, NM. Nikki Nitche, Sonia Coffman of Albuquerque, and sister-in-law Ann Wilkins of Amarillo, TX. She has twenty-six great-grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Geraldine (Geri) was preceded in death by her parents Sam Wilkins and Molly Wilkins-Allison; husband Paul Soderstadt, sons Gerald, John and Paul "C.E." Soderstadt, daughter Paul ine Schrimsher, grandson Pablo Soderstadt, and great grandson Daniel Byrum. Geraldine was born July 20, 1916 in New Boston, TX and moved to Albuquerque in a wagon 1928. She married Paul Soderstadt after only two weeks of courting at age 15, and remained devoted to him until her death. After raising her children she became a restaurant owner/operator for several years in Rogers, Arkansas, and Gallup, NM after retiring from the restaurant business she sold Avon products until she was eighty-one years old receiving many awards as an excellent representative. Geraldine was a loyal member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ) and was instrumental in attempting to establish a mission in Gallup, NM. Geraldine will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Services will be held Monday, September 11 at Sunrise Funeral Options-East (Daniels Family Funeral Services) at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE with John Bolton officiating. Cremation will follow immediately with her ashes to be interred with her husband in Rogers, AK. Friends may visit Sunrise Funeral Options beginning at 11:00 a.m. with services following at 1:00 p.m. Family will receive visitors at the home of Barbara Soderstadt-Coffman 3017 Tahiti NE following services.
