Obituary for KLUDT

James Berger Kludt, MD., 83, passed away at his home on September 2, 2006, from complications associated with Pulmonary Hypertension. Born in Odessa, Saskatchewan, Canada, he graduated from Washington State University in 1943. He received his medical degree from Northwestern Medical School in 1948. He served in the Navy in WWII, and as an officer in the Navy during the Korean War. He received his training in Psychiatry at Boston State Hospital, and was Fellow in Psychiatry at Harvard University. He trained as a Psychoanalyst at the Baltimore/D.C. Institute for Psychoanalysis. Until his retirement in 1992, he worked in private practice and consulted for various government agencies in the Washington D.C. Metro area, and Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his daughter Gretchen, three sons Adam, Trevor, and Dudley, by granddaughters Heather and Melissa, great-grandson Aiden, and many friends. Known for his sense of humor and love of puns, he was an avid reader, jazz pianist, and football fan.
