Paul A. (Tony) Nuanes, age 51, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 19, 2006. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul S. and Annie Nuanes; mother, Betty-Ann Nuanes-Soto; brother, Tom Nuanes; aunt, Rozanne Soto; grandmother, Mela Soto; brothers-in-law, Richard Martinez and Carlos Gallegos; and mother-in-law, Anne Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sylvia; son, Beau and Raylene Royston; son, Brett and Adrianne Gurule; and daughter, Yvette Ortiz; grandchildren, Michael, Missy, Destiny, Harmony, and Serenity. Tony is also survived by his father, Paul R. Nuanes and wife, Grace; father-in-law, Rudy Martinez; siblings, Richard Nuanes, Debbie Kahawai and husband, Lani, Steve Nuanes and Joanna Garcia, Andrew Nuanes and wife, Marina, Anthony Moya and wife, Patricia, Steve Moya and wife, Anna, Arnold Moya and wife, Suzanne, Stan Moya and wife, Priscilla, Beverly Anaya and husband, Gilbert, Rudy Martinez and wife, Gloria, Gloria Apodaca, Suzanne Striet and husband, Bob, Maryanne Baca, Ronnie Martinez and wife, Dolores, Michael Martinez and wife, Fredda, and Johnny Martinez, Jerry Gallegos and wife, Julie, Patricia Montoya and husband, Art, Pete Gallegos, James Gallegos and wife, Della, Karen Padilla and husband, Zolio, Frank Gallegos and wife, Sadie; uncle, Sam Soto Jr. and wife, Angie, uncle, Charlie Soto; and aunt, Virgina Saavedera and husband, Raymond; godchildren, Janelle Lopez and Vincent Garcia; dear friend and considered part of the family, Peggy Zejda; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; numerous friends; and colleagues who will miss him dearly. Tony was employed with Federated Auto Parts. His hobbies included playing basketball, jogging, walking, coaching, and spending weekends at Elephant Butte Lake. Visitation will take place Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. at Gabaldon Mortuary. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass will take place on Friday, August 25, 2006 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Reception at 11:00 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 609 14th St SW. Pallbearers: Steve Nuanes, Rick Nuanes, Frank Gallegos, Fern Hernandez, Ben Mora, and Orlando Lucero. Honorary pallbearers are Leroy Hood, Dominic Sanchez, and Danny Trujillo.
