Obituary for LUCERO

Michael P. "Mikie" Lucero, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 19, on Saturday, August 12, 2006. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He came from a small but very close and loving family. Michael was loved by many who came into his life, including lots of very close friends. Michael enjoyed fishing, music, his car, and all his fun times with his friends. He loved to cook for any and all who came by his home and always had an open door for anyone needing a place to stay. He was giving to all and had so much love for everyone that he would always smile when he gave. Michael loved and enjoyed his life with his mother. He is now resting in peace with his dad in heaven, for he was a true believer in God. You will forever live in our hearts, our minds, and the memories will keep you with us forever. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael S. Lucero; uncles, Marty L. Chavez and Tano Gonzales; and Tata and Nana, Paul and Ursula Aragon. Michael is survived by his mother, Anita Lucero; one sister, Mabel Chavez; grandparents, Trinidad and Angelina Chavez; two uncles, Adolpho, and his wife, Maria Chavez, and Greg Chavez; auntie, Dorothy and her husband, Juan Dominguez; three nieces, Beverly, Gabby, and Trinity; cousins, Joseph, Daniel, Valerie, Colleen, Sarah, and Samantha; many other second cousins, and many relatives on his fathers' side; Godparents, Johnny Torres and Regina Chavez; special friend from childhood, Phillip Saiz; and many, many close friends. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM, on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Saiz, Angelo Romero, Joe Salazar, James Vallejos, Elijah Spicer, and Leonard Perea. Honorary pallbearers will be Crystal Ibuado, Amanda Saiz, Andrew Romero, Alex Quintana, Santos Gonzales, Aaron Montoya, Aaron Piedra, and Richard Salazar. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
