James R. Martin, 78, of Tarrs, PA, died Monday, August 7, 2006 at his home. He was born May 17, 1928 in Connellsville, PA, a son of the late George and Jennie Warrick Martin. He was a retired aircraft mechanic during his service with the U.S. Air Force and he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three children: two in infancy, and a son, Anthony Bryant Martin; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Jessica; one brother, Walter Martin; and four sisters, Thelma Welling, June Lyons, Margaret Giosso, and Sara Bradley. He is survived by his children, George "Butch" Martin and his wife, Terry of Albuquerque, NM, Jacqueline Martin of Mount Pleasant, PA, James Martin, Jr. of Tarrs, R. Scott Martin and his wife, Jessica of Fairchance, PA, Penny J. Miller and her husband, Paul of Durango, CO, Michele Martin of Smithfield, PA, David Martin of Albuquerque, NM, Mike Martin and his wife, Sherri of Hopwood, PA and Partrick Martin and his girlfriend, Valerie of Greensburg, PA; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gayle Conner of Connellsville, PA and Emmajean Morgan of Avon Lake, OH. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, PA, where Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Painter officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.
