Max L. Maestas went home to be with the Lord on Friday at the age of 83. He was an Army Veteran who proudly served his country during World War II. He was a great carpenter who enjoyed making furniture. Max was preceded in death by his daughter Olivia Ortiz. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Bertha Maestas; three sons Ron Maestas and wife Patsy, Larry Maestas and Lisa Smith and Ricardo Maestas and wife Annette; one daughter Laura Maestas Baca; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Max will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with an evening service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Final viewing will be held on Tuesday at the All Nations Assembly of God Church, 1119 Menaul Blvd NW, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Maestas, Justin Maestas, Paz Maestas, Gian Maestas, Jimmy Ortiz and Leroy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Denise Roland, Monica Ortiz, Celina Maestas, Ashley Baca and Marisa Maestas. Funeral services are in the care of: Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. SW 243-5222
