Cecilia Rael Saiz, born April 27, 1919 in Anton Chico, NM, passed away peacefully on the Lord's Day, Sunday, July 30, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Saiz; granddaughter, Jaime Garcia; step-grandson, Robert Sowash; brothers, Severo Rael, Anastacio Rael, Eulogio Rael, Augustine Rael; and sister, Francis Garcia. Cecilia is survived by all nine of her children, Jeanine Garcia and husband, Chris, Patsy Montoya and husband, Joe, Marie Romero and husband, Richard, Victor Saiz and wife, Rosa, Joe Saiz and wife, Juanita, Sam Saiz and wife, Rachel, Veronica Valencia and husband, Mike J., Albert Saiz and wife, Sue, and Kathy Sanchez; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Knauss and husband, Gary; brothers, Isidro, Jose and wife, Celina; special niece, Emily Buford; three sisters-in-law, Flora Vigil, Dulce Davis, and Beneranda Razotos; brother-in-law, Fidel Saiz; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, near San Pedro and Gibson SE. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Scott Waddle, Miguel Horta, Gabe Serna, Julian Tapia, AJ Saiz, Patrick Saiz, Sam Saiz Jr., and Rueben Carrillo. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Garcia, Jesus Saiz, Victor Saiz Jr. The family would like to extend a special thank you all of Cecilia's caretakers and Valle Norte Nursing Center.
