Obituary for BIVENS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday August 03, 2006

Lloyd Dayle Bivens, 68, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Lloyd was born in Missouri on March 10, 1938, and grew up working on the family farm. He married his wife, Connie 43 years ago, and they have lived in Albuquerque since 1978. Lloyd was a well known and respected businessman, and he spent the last eight years working in the hardware department at Home Depot. Lloyd was blessed with the very special gift of love and compassion for others, and he shared the loving message of salvation through Jesus Christ with everyone he knew. He enjoyed wood-working and has completed many sentimental and treasured items. Lloyd loved his family very much. His entire Home Deport family also held a very special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed. Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife, Connie; two children, Allen Bivens and his wife, Elizabeth of Albuquerque and Karen Medley and husband, Daniel, and Lloyd's two grandchildren, Kristina and Brian Medley of Los Lunas; brother, Daryl Bivens and wife, Marilyn; nephew, Paul Bivens, niece, Janice Spencer, and their families, of Colorado; niece DeeAnn Gill and husband, David, of Rio Rancho; and niece, Amy Knight and her family of Kentucky. Lloyd's family appreciated the kind people and care givers associated with Hospice of the Sandias. We also like to thank everyone at the Albuquerque Home Depot for all of their loving support and thoughtful acts of kindness. Everyone who ever had the chance to meet Lloyd Bivens loved him very much and truly benefited from his kind, gentle, loving spirit and his love and faith in Jesus Christ. We all look forward to joining him in Heaven someday. Lloyd attended Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque and was involved with the prayer group there. Services will be held on Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
