Bonnie Schoenberger (Carruthers), 64, of Elephant Butte, NM died at her home, after battling cancer, on July 29, 2006. Bonnie was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in Albuquerque, NM. She was a member of American Legion Post #44 in Elephant Butte, NM. Bonnie enjoyed many activities with her friends such as playing darts and billiards; and knitting, sewing, and quilting. Bonnie is survived by her husband, John Schoenberger of Elephant Butte, NM; her son, Stephen McKnight of Chandler, AZ; and her daughter, Madeline Aragon of Los Lunas, NM. Cremation will take place and a Prayer Vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. A Memorial Celebration Service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Virgilio Flores officiating. A fellowship will be held after the service at the American Legion Post #44 in Elephant Butte. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Bonnie's memory be sent to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE-Ste 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
