Obituary for GOMEZ

ANGELINA L. Mrs. Angelina (Angie) L. Gomez, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 27, 2006 peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family and is now in heaven with our Lord. Mrs. Gomez is the beloved wife to Mr. Willie Gomez married for 54 years. Mrs. Gomez is also survived by her loving children, Jeanne Salazar, Theresa Gomez, Carla Carrillo and husband, Jim, Guillermo Gomez and wife, Carmen; cousin/sister, Emma Vega and husband, Max; four grandchildren, Esteban, Julio, Sarah, and Santiago. Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her baby son, Joseph Gomez; her parents, Juan Andres and Socorro Lopez; her aunt and uncle that raised her when her parents died, Don Atanacio and Rita Padilla. Her childhood was in Contreras, NM with her parents, Juan Andres and Socorro. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1947. Angie and Willie married in 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Monsignor Garcia, who gave them his Papal Blessing. Angie was a member of the choir at the time. After getting married Willie and Angie moved to California where she worked for the U.S. Immigration and the schools in California. Angie enjoyed her travels, playing her guitar and violin, and attending Italian Classes with her friends at Palo Duro Senior Center. Angie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a devout Catholic all her life. A visitation for Angie will be Sunday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming NE, with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Carrillo, Bobby Gomez, Michael Chavez, Gerald Chavez, Russell Chavez, and Roberto Gomez. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Olvera, Julio Salazar, Kiki Saavedra, Esteban Salazar, and Max Vega. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW 243-7861
