Gilbert W. Otterstetter, age 63, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away in his home on the morning of Thursday, July 13, 2006. Gilbert joined the Air Force at the age of 18, where he served eight years, one of which was in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged. He met and married Virginia Gonzales while stationed at Kirtland. After his discharge from the Air Force, they made their home in Sheboygan, WI. He retired from the Kohler Company in 1995. They moved back to New Mexico in 1996. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 41 years; daughter, Veronica Wilmot and her husband Keith; son Gilbert Otterstetter and his partner, John Aragon; grandchildren, Jackie, Brittni, Kyle, and Dakota; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Kenneth, Virgil, Wesley, Terry; and sister, Sharon. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with cremation to follow.
