Jerry Wayne Slay August 31, 1951 - June 28, 2006 Jerry Wayne Slay, 54, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in Durango, CO. Jerry resided with his children and mother in Taos. Jerry and his mother, Jackie Baca, operated Jackie's Trading Post in north Taos. He was born in Houston, TX, attended Valley High School in Albuquerque and formerly resided in Kalapana, HI. He is survived by his son, Jerry Slay, Jr., 21; and daughters Sylvia, 17, of Taos and Amy, 31, of the Grand Bahamas; his mother, Jackie Baca of Taos; sisters, Jackie and Jeanne; and brothers, Sam and Bill, all of Fort Worth, TX; many nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends that he has known for years. Jerry never met a stranger and always provided a helping hand for friends in need. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He will be painfully missed but eternally remembered by those he loved and those that loved him. A gathering of family and friends was held on July 2, 2006 in the family's Taos home.
