Obituary for TAFOYA

Nora H. Tafoya, age 60, beloved and devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister, was called to her heavenly home by the Lord, Thursday, June 22, 2006. Nora was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, where she was a High School Teacher for the Bernalillo School System for 34 years, and was a member of the Catholic Church. Nora enjoyed traveling; community youth work and fund-raising; crocheting and cooking. She was immensely loved and appreciated by her family and people whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eufemia Sandoval; two sisters, Leonie Sandoval and Mary Ruth Garcia. Nora is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Harold Tafoya of the family home; her precious children, Andrew B. Tafoya, Steven M. Tafoya, and Bernice N. Haro and husband, Ronald; her father, Merenciano Sandoval one sister, Alicia Sandoval; a special grandniece, Gabriela Lopez; Tito Sandoval who was like a brother to Nora; and numerous other beloved family members and friends. Nora will be greatly missed. Visitations will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be Robert Hernandez, Javier Hernandez, Tito Sandoval, Narciso Aragon, Ronald Haro, and Isidro Gonzalez.
