Obituary for SWAFFORD

Olive S. Swafford, the youngest of eight children, born to Herman F. and Ella B. Schramm of Pierce, NE, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Manzano del Sol. She is survived by her nephew, Don Schramm and wife, Gracy; niece, Dorothy Crist; and four other nephews and seven nieces are at various locations throughout the west. Mrs. Swafford was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Swafford in 1960, Miss Belle Schramm in 1983 and nephew Earl W. Crist, Jr. in 1999. Most of her education was in business schooling at West Texas State College in Canyon, TX and by correspondence. She married Jesse A. Swafford. The Swaffords and her sister Belle Schramm moved to Albuquerque in 1953. Mrs. Swafford was employed by E.F. Hutton and Co. until her retirement in 1972. She and her sisters were among the first residents in Manzano del Sol Retirement Village on December 4, 1980. Much of her spare time was spent doing volunteer work of different kinds. Mrs. Swafford was a member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene for many years. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Manzano del Sol Retirement Village, 5201 Roma NE, with Rev. Cullen Woods officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
