Ruth L. Leal passed peacefully away on Monday, June 5, 2006 at her home in Corrales, NM. She was born on November 26, 1917 to Jose Miguel and Aurelia (Apodaca) Lucero in Alameda, NM. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, who cherished every moment with her family. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and step-grandchildren and will never be forgotten for her kindness. Ruth had her own business as a beautician. She is survived by her sons, Gary M. Leal and wife, Beverly of Corrales, NM and Bennie P. Leal, Jr. of Corrales, NM; two grandchildren, Gary D. Leal and wife, Eva of Rio Rancho, NM and Anjelica Leal and fiance, Joseph Romero of Alameda, NM. Ruth also has two step-grandsons, Nick Patton of Fort Bragg, NC and Erik Patton of Corrales, NM; and one step-granddaughter, Kailey Mitchell and husband, Ryan of Albuquerque, NM; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Garcia of Corrales, NM, Ana Brown and husband, Johnnie and Rena Brown and husband, Joe both of Alameda, NM; four brothers, Manuel Lucero and wife, Eufamia and Joe Lucero, Jr., both of Alameda, NM, and Willie Lucero and Ray Lucero both of Albuquerque, NM. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Leal, Sr. and two brothers, Ernesto Lucero and Lalo Lucero. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 9, 2006, 11:00 a.m. with Father James Vance, Celebrant. Friends may visit on Thursday June 8, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel.
