Obituary for KARP

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday June 08, 2006

Mary P. Karp "Granny," 92, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in Albuquerque. She had a good life and always endeared herself to those around her no matter how short the encounter. Granny loved to work and took care of many people throughout her life and volunteered for years at the Storehouse. She loved to garden and bake and always had energy to play cards. We will all miss her but we are comforted knowing that she will always be with us in our hearts. Granny is survived by her only child, Dolores Michutka; grandchildren, Rodney Jeffries, Diane Haney, Gregory Jeffries and Brian Jeffries; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ross, Tessa, John, Bridgette, and Brad. Also surviving is her dear sister and friend, Dorothy Markan, and numerous nieces and nephews. We were all blessed to have her in our lives for so many years. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will take place in Michigan next to her loving husband who passed away many years ago. Granny, we love you. We are happy knowing that you are dancing the polka once again and will always watch over us. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
