Obituary for TRYON

Marian Boyle Tryon, a resident of Rio Rancho, N.M., died Thursday evening, May 18, 2006, at the age of 84 years. Marian was born in Rumson, N.J., February 11, 1922. She was the eldest of four children born to John Boyle and Marian Callahan Boyle. Marian was a graduate of Rumson High School and attended college in New York for one year. While serving as the executive secretary for a local Army post commander, Marian met then-Sergeant Frank Tryon in the U.S. Army. They were married Sept. 27, 1942, shortly before Frank deployed to Europe. Upon the conclusion of World War II, Frank Tryon remained in the Army and with Marian as his best friend and advisor. He retired in 1971 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Thereafter, Marian and Frank resided in Las Cruces, N.M., until 1998 when they moved to Rio Rancho. Frank passed on in 2003. Marian is survived by eight loving children, Capt. Frank Tryon, Jr., U.S. Navy retired, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; LTC. John Edward Tryon, U.S. Army retired, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Dr. James Robert Tryon, M.D., of Bosque Farms, N.M.; Bill Tryon, attorney, of Rio Rancho; Brig. Gen. Richard Thomas Tryon, U.S. Marine Corps, of Quantico, Va.; Capt. Michael Patrick Tryon, U.S. Navy retired, Albuquerque; Mary Ann Tryon of Jefferson, Wisc.; and LTC Stephen Paul Tryon, U.S. Army retired, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Frank III, Sean, Patricia, Brian, Kathleen, Connor, Elyce, Brett, Erin, Kelly and Jacob. Services will be held privately at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho and, later, in Cheyenne, Wyo. In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make donations to St. Anthony Alliance, Inc., at 1470 W. Bosque Loop, Bosque Farms, N.M. 87068.
