Obituary for LOWRY

Margaret Harrison Lowry, died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Albuquerque after a lingering illness related to advanced age. She was born in Coldwater, Mississippi on July 6, 1915. She was a graduate of Olive Branch High School in Mississippi and then moved to Memphis, TN. In 1940, she married James L. Lowry, Sr. and enjoyed 56 years of a loving marriage to him. She lived in Memphis until she moved to Albuquerque in 1984. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Lowry, Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Anne Taylor of Nashville, TN; a son, James L. Lowry, Jr. M.D. of Albuquerque. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Stephanie Brooks of Franklin, TN, Anne Taylor of Albuquerque and Amy Collis of Minneapolis, MN; and three grandsons, Stephen Taylor of Waxhaw, NC, Jeff Lowry of Albuquerque and Vince Lowry of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren. Margaret worked in retail sales in Memphis for a time and spent many years as a devoted homemaker. She was very active in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Memphis, and later in the Heights First Church of the Nazarene of Albuquerque. Margaret had an unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior. She was much beloved as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She lived life with faith, style and grace and faced death with eternal hope of resurrection and reunion with her beloved husband, Jimmy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
