Obituary for TOMBERLIN

Robert Lee "Bob" Tomberlin passed away on May 27, 2006 following a brief illness. He was born July 13, 1925 in Atwood, OK and spent his childhood in and around Strong City, OK. After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he settled in Albuquerque in 1946 where he married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn. In 1974, Bob moved to Bosque Farms, NM where he lived until his death. Bob worked in the trucking industry for ICX for 38 years until his retirement in 1985. Bob is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Evelyn; son, Garry and wife, Marion of Bosque Farms; son, Larry and wife, Ellen of Los Lunas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Letha Archer and husband, T.J. of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Violet of Portland, OR; brother, Gerald and wife, Ila of Carter, OK; brother, Leon and wife, Joan of Marble Falls, TX; brother, Bill and wife, Glenda of Alva, OK; as well as a myriad of nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Leo and Velma Tomberlin; brother, Lowell and wife, Dixie; sister, Mildred Cogburn and husband, Sidney; and brother, Virgil. Visitation for Bob will be Thursday, June 1, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Aspen Funeral Home, 1935 Juan Tabo NE. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Aspen Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will host a reception immediately following interment at the Albuquerque Elks Lodge at 2430 Centre Ave. SE. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
