Heidi (Lina) Jiron, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe S. Jiron; son, Frank Jiron and wife, Diana of Annandale, VA; brother, Erich Oetzel and wife, Helga of Frankfurt, Germany; sisters-in-law, Sostia Baca of Albuquerque, Betty Silva and husband, Gilbert of Belen, and Dilia Giron of Albuquerque, and numerous dear friends, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Karolina Oetzel; brothers-in-law, Frank Giron and Paul Jiron; and sister-in-law, Soccora Jiron. Mrs. Jiron was an active member of the German-American Club, Edelweiss am Rio Grande and also member Mountainview Kirtland AFB Officers' Club and American Legion Post 49. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Byron Wicker reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Fr. Norbert Choong, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, May 23, 2006, 5:00 p.m. to Rosary.
