Obituary for VALENTINE

James Walter Valentine, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret), took his final flight at Hospice of the Sandias in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, May 18, 2006. He was born September 7, 1922 in Bethlehem, PA. He served proudly in the Army Air Force and United States Air Force from 1942 until 1964. He joined the Federal Aviation Administration as a pilot examiner and aircraft accident investigator. During his aviation career, he amassed a total of 17,000 hours as pilot-in-command or as an instructor pilot. Phyllis, his beloved wife of 40 years, survives Mr. Valentine. Other survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Raymond Morrissette of Virginia; his children, Candace and Milton Martinez of Bernalillo, Bryan and Pat Valentine of Santa Fe, Ronald and Carolyn Wise of Pine Bluff, AR; his grandchildren, Melissa and Crystal Martinez, Suzanne and Jared Gardner, Christopher and Anthony Valentine, Angel and Stacey Zeigler, Natalie Wise, Marcy and Erik Saoud, Veronica and Tom Conner; his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Bernie, and Julius Zeigler, and Jeshua Gardner. His sister, Dorothy Cattaneo, preceded him in death. Honoring his request, no Services will be held. Burial will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
