Elton M. Karlen passed away May 18, 2006 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born May 14, 1916 in Vilas, SD. Following his WWII service in the Navy, he relocated his family to Los Alamos, living there until his retirement from the Atomic Energy Commission in 1985, at which time they moved to Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Beth; daughter, Merilyn Floyd and husband, Geral; son, Curt Karlen and wife, Pat; and daughter, Leah Gentry; grandchildren, Mike, Wendy, and Melissa Floyd; Lora Whalley; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Kevin Floyd, Ian Stephens, and Amanda White. Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 25, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
