James MSGT Ret. James "Jimmy" T. McEntire, passed away early this May. He was born in Lunsford, AR, Dec 26, 1939. He resided in Veguita, NM for the past 11 years. Jimmy served his country proudly in the US Marines, a Vietnam Veteran of three tours, retiring in 1977. Jimmy also had an 18 year career with UPS. He was very active in his community and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship he found here. Let it be known that Jimmy appreciated and valued his friends and was happy to oblige any request for help. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He is survived by six children; seven grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, San Isidro Mission on Tuesday, May 16, beginning with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Las Nutrias Catholic Cemetery.
